Events planned for 2019:

DECORAH REGION     (ONE DAY TRIP)   Wednesday, May 15, 2019
Join us for a fun time in Decorah, Norwegian Community.
*Pinter’s Gardens  Garden center. Each one will have a cinnamon roll & drink.
*Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum.  Elaborate costumes, butter molds, colorful
paintings, silver wedding crowns, cabin built from a single tree and much more.
Tour of Decorah – Scenic Bluff Country
*Sugar Bowl Ice Cream Everyone gets ice cream. Look around the walls and on ceiling
to find antique signs, cars, bikes and even animatronics.
*Seed Savers Exchange – Heirloom plants and seeds. Ancient Rare White Park Cattle, variety of gardens. This is where all of their spring plants will be ready for us to purchase.  I am going to Decorah April 11 & 12 for a Peer group meeting. Afterwards I might add or delete activities.
Just before we go home we will have dinner.
Price includes motor coach transportation, dinner, admission fees and all taxes and gratuities.  $50.00 down with reservation.  Final payment is due May 6. Cost: $125.00.  I have had requests to have a one day trip instead of two days.  I have tried to have several activities for the day.
A SUPERIOR ADVENTURE       July 16 – 19    (Tuesday thru Friday)
Experience the beauty and majesty that is Minnesota’s Lake Superior coast as we travel to Duluth.   On our way to Duluth we will stop for a guided tour at the Spam Museum in Austin, Minnesota. Afterwards we will stop at St James Hotel in Red Wing to enjoy an entrée select lunch. For three nights we will be in Duluth on the shores of Lake Superior and where you can catch the sight of the mighty famous Aerial Lift Bridge. Duluth attractions will include a city tour of Duluth’s highlights, the historic Glensheen Mansion (tour of the Congdon family estate with a private lunch). We will wind our way along the scenic North Shore Byway with stops at Two Harbors, Gooseberry Falls State Park and Split Rock Lighthouse. The next day we will travel up to Chisholm, Minn. to visit the Minnesota Museum of Mining. We will have the opportunity to learn about the iron mining industry in Minn. as well as the story of the people. We will make our way back to the North Shore Scenic Railroad to board the Duluth Zephyr for a scenic train ride along the shoreline of Lake Superior. We will also have the opportunity to visit the Lake Superior Railroad Museum. That evening we will be able to enjoy a relaxing sunset dinner cruise. The next morning we will bid farewell to Duluth and journey to Grand Rapids, Minn. for the Judy Garland Museum (largest collection on Judy Garland and the Wizard of Oz). Afterwards we will have lunch and begin our departure for home.   Beautiful and interesting trip.
Price:  $999.00 per person for double occupancy.  $100.00 deposit is due with reservation.  I need 25 people to go on the trip. In a couple weeks I will have brochures (stop in at one of the banks or call the bank to send a brochure to you).
